the Board Room Chess is a nonprofit organization creating safe learning spaces through programming and collaboration. We use the strategies and disciplines of the game of chess to teach life skills, discipline, leadership, and responsibility. Our programming provides support services to help promote safe communities, healthy families, mentoring and leadership instruction for young participants, especially those in underserved communities.
We envision a vibrant Baltimore where safe spaces are available for youth to connect through their shared interest in chess. We envision youth with access to programs that empower them to make positive decisions, show respect and responsibility, and help create safer communities.
